LUCY THOMPSON IS A MULTI AWARD WINNING MEDICAL & MASTECTOMY TATTOO ARTIST
In 2017, Lucy became the UKs first ART 3D Nipple Tattoo certified tattoo artist. Offering permanent, hyper-realistic 3D nipple tattoos after mastectomy and reconstructive surgery, tattoos that give the illusion of a nipple protrusion on a flat surface, she has since been on a mission to help empower breast cancer survivors throughout her career in medical tattooing.
Lucy has been a traditional tattoo artist since 2013 with a focus on working with scars and scar cover ups since 2015.
In order to help as many people as possible, she founded The Nipple Innovation Project charity in 2018, which works by offering a directory of accredited artists throughout the UK and also fundraises to offer post mastectomy tattoos for free, for those who need this specialist service.
She has become an ambassador for the industry, speaking at Women’s Institutes, on Local & National News and the European Oncology Convention to educate people about this life-changing service.
Lucy set up the Areola Academy in 2022 to utilise her skills as a traditional & medical tattoo artist to help teach others in a mentorship styler setting.
Since launching the academy she has forged international connections and regularly travels abroad to teach classess to international students.
The goal is grow the number of expertly trained artists able to offer this service worldwide, to help more people reclaim their bodies and confidence post-mastectomy.
